Custom mounting on acrylic blocks provides the perfect canvas to showcase your specimen's full potential, streamlining your collection presentation while keeping your crystals safely displayed.
Custom mounting adds balance and case appeal to a mineral that may otherwise display awkwardly by presenting it at the most dramatic and aesthetic angle.
About Our Mounts
Our custom mounts are made in-house by our industry-renowned carver, Jacob. We hand mill each base to fit your specimen exactly, ensuring maximum stability by using prongs where necessary.
To achieve the level of accuracy we're known for we must have your specimen in hand at the time of carving to create your custom mount. You can ship to us, drop off in person, or meet up at a mineral show. We will provide an invoice upon receipt of the specimen and will return your specimens once payment has been made in full.
How It Works
Personalized text is available in the font and color of your choice - or use our stock template, which includes the species name and locality information in black Arial.
If you are purchasing a specimen from the website and would like to add a base, simply click the "Add Custom Mount" checkbox on the product page and we'll get started!
We can also mount pieces for your collection! Contact us to request a quote!
Pricing
Our custom mounts are priced according to the size of the acrylic block necessary. Below is our price guide.
Standard Blocks (1 inch thickness)
- 1-3 inch block - $200
- 3-5 inch block - $245
- 5-7 inch block - $325
- 7-9 inch block - $450
- 9-11 inch block - $615
- 11 inch+ block - case by case basis
Thick Blocks (1.5 inch thickness)
- 1-3 inch block - $245
- 3-5 inch block - $300
- 5-7 inch block - $400
- 7-9 inch block - $550
- 9-11 inch block - $755
- 11 inch+ block - case by case basis
