Looking for the ultimate collecting experience? Rent the Mine gives you exclusive use of the entire site for the day, complete with heavy equipment access and expert guidance from both Blake and a machine operator. We shut down all other digs for the day so your group will have the place to themselves—nothing is off limits! It's I Me Yours!
Starting at 9 AM each Saturday or Sunday, your party can choose between a half-day with 4 hours of digging or a full-day with 8 hours of digging. Each Pocket Dig accommodates up to 20 collectors, with additional collectors welcome for an added fee. An excavator is on hand to strip back overburden and expose fresh pockets, with on-site support throughout your dig.
Our experienced guides will work with you for the day employing every tool they have to keep you on the crystals—giving pointers, sharing pro tips and helping dig when appropriate so you come away with both great finds and a deeper understanding of hard-rock mining.
Rent the Mine is by appointment only—reserve online at least two weeks in advance to secure exclusive use for your group. This ensures that we have the time necessary to open a fresh, undug pocket for you to get started digging immediately upon arrival. Your package includes our 49,000lb excavator and hammer drill to try and keep the crystals going all day—as well as all hand-tools and mechanized tools, a gazebo and shade umbrellas. Primitive camping is available as an addon if you’d like to stay overnight.
We’re just a 5–10-minute drive from groceries, restaurants, and hardware stores, and our gravel access road handles easily in any passenger vehicle—no 4-wheel drive required. Don’t forget to pack plenty of water, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing.

** Recommended tools/gear: 3-4lb mini sledge hammer, assorted chisels, small screwdrivers, pry bar, newspaper to wrap your finds.
** Crystals are a guarantee at the pocket dig level and higher, but they may not meet your expectations —you are paying for our crews' time and the experience of finding crystals. If the value of crystals does not meet or exceed the cost of the dig, you will receive store credit towards our inventory.
** We do not have a working bathroom, only an outhouse — bathrooms are in the works.
** We are dog friendly as long as you have a friendly dog.
