Want to take it to the next level? Our Machine Digs put you in the main pit with an excavator, operator, and one of our experienced quartz miners as your personal guide for the day. Instead of being limited to working a pocket by hand, the excavator allows us to move rock, follow promising veins, and expose fresh material as you dig. With our miners there to guide the process, you’ll have the opportunity to chase pockets and recover crystals straight from the source.

Each Machine Dig is reserved exclusively for your group, so the mine, equipment, and crew are focused on your dig. The excavator and operator work alongside you to remove overburden, move heavy rock, and help expose promising areas that would be difficult or impossible to reach by hand. Power tools are permitted on Machine Digs, giving serious collectors the ability to work tougher rock and pursue pockets farther than a traditional Pocket Dig allows.
