A beautiful amethyst on matrix from the Purple Ninja Pocket, Piedra Parada, Tatatila Municipality, Veracruz, Mexico. This specimen features a single chunky amethyst crystal that has formed on a bit of the matrix, which is covered with a fine druse of calcite. The amethyst has gorgeous purple color, great luster and superb clarity. There is a contacted area on the backside where another crystal was once attached, but there is no damage.
