A superb Japan-law twin quartz cluster from Collier Creek, near Mt. Ida, in Montgomery Co., Arkansas. This outstanding specimen features a textbook Japan-law twin nestled in a cluster of smaller prismatic quartz crystals. The twin measures 1.64 inches across (or 4.17 cm) from tip to tip and is a fairly symmetrical, gem-quality example. The cluster itself is actually a "glassback", which a local term used to describe a specimen with a recrystallized bottom. It is well-balanced - the twin perched just to the right of center and standing prominently upright amongst the crowd of smaller crystals. There is no significant damage to the specimen and the twin itself is in beautiful condition, although there is on small contact mark where a smaller crystal once sat on the lower portion. It has a custom acrylic mount, carved and engraved in house by our master carver Jacob.
