Quartz var. Japan-Law Twin
Quartz var. Japan-Law Twin
An exceptional example of a Japan-law twin quartz from the Collier Creek Mine, near Mt. Ida, in Montgomery Co., Arkansas. This captivating specimen features a superb Japan-law twin of exceptional clarity - and significant size - nestled amongst a group of elongated prismatic quartz crystals. The arrangement of the crystals is quite attractive and the piece displays well in multiple orientations. The crystals have a vitreous, mirror-like luster and many are nearly totally gem-quality. There is a bit of unfortunate damage - a crystal just in front of the twin is missing and the root is showing; the twin has a significant contact on the backside, as well as a significant chip to one of the crystals (see last photo). These all hide well but they do exist and are reflected in the price. Either way, this is just a gorgeous and eye-catching example of this twin law. It comes with a custom milled and engraved acrylic mount made in-house by our industry renowned carver Jacob.
