Kidwellite with Beraunite
Kidwellite with Beraunite
A very nice kidwellite with beraunite from the Arena #1 Mine, in Polk Co., Arkansas. This specimen was collected by Al Kidwell, who first discovered the species in Montgomery County in the 1970s. Kidwellite is a very rare phosphate found in the novaculite deposits of the Quachita Mountains in Arkansas, as well as numerous other localities across the world. This specimen shows olive green kidwellite aggregates that have formed with sprays of dark burgundy beraunite. The contrast of color is striking, and the specimen is free of any significant damage. It comes with a custom acrylic base, made in house by our master carver, Jacob.
