A huge pyrite crystal with albite and magnetite from Cove Creek, in Magnet Cove, Hot Spring Co., Arkansas. This monster pyrite cluster consists mostly of a large single crystal measuring 3.5 inches across. The faces of the pyrite are partially coated with a thin layer of silvery molybdenite, which creates a really interesting pattern of alternating silver and brass hues. One face is partially coated with hundreds of minute, black magnetite crystals. The underside hosts clusters of bipyramidal smoky quartz crystals that are jet black, as well as off-white crystals of albite. the piece is in good condition overall and comes with a custom acrylic base, milled and engraved in house by our master carver, Jacob.
