A very nice pyrite crystal from Cove Creek, in Magnet Cove, Hot Spring Co., Arkansas. This fine crystal is rather large for the locality, measuring over 3cm on edge. The faces of the pyrite are partially coated with a thin layer of silvery molybdenite, which creates a really interesting pattern of alternating silver and brass hues. Some off-white crystals of albite adorn the pyrite, adding contrast and composition to specimen. It does have some damage here and there - a ding on the edge, a small broken crystal, and contacts on the sides. A rare Arkansas classic!
