A very nice pyrite crystal from Cove Creek, in Magnet Cove, Hot Spring Co., Arkansas. This complex crystal is rather large for the locality, measuring over 3cm on edge. The faces of the pyrite are partially coated with a thin layer of silvery molybdenite, which creates a really interesting pattern of alternating silver and brass hues. Some off-white crystals of albite adorn the pyrite, adding contrast and composition to specimen. It does have some damage here and there - a broken corner on the front and backside. A rare Arkansas classic!
