A very nice pyrite crystal from Cove Creek, in Magnet Cove, Hot Spring Co., Arkansas. This complex crystal shows multiple generations of growth - the faces of the pyrite are partially coated with a thin layer of silvery molybdenite, which creates a really interesting pattern of alternating silver and brass hues. Some off-white crystals of albite adorn the pyrite, adding contrast and composition to specimen. The backside/bottom of the piece sheared off in the pocket, but it is in good condition otherwise with no major damage to report. A rare Arkansas classic!
