A very nice pyrite crystal from Cove Creek, in Magnet Cove, Hot Spring Co., Arkansas. This sharp crystal is rather large for the locality, measuring over 3.4 cm on edge - the faces of the pyrite are partially coated with a thin layer of silvery molybdenite, which creates a really interesting pattern of alternating silver and brass hues. It is not complete on the bottom where it sheared off in the pocket, but it is free of any significant damage otherwise. A rare Arkansas classic!
