A very nice pyrite crystal from Cove Creek, in Magnet Cove, Hot Spring Co., Arkansas. This sharp crystal is rather large for the locality, measuring over 4.4 cm on edge - the faces of the pyrite are partially coated with a thin layer of silvery molybdenite, which creates a really interesting pattern of alternating silver and brass hues. It is not complete on the backside/bottom where it sheared off in the pocket, - it also has some small dings on the edges. Nevertheless, a rare Arkansas classic in an impressive size!
