A nice light smoky quartz crystal from I Me Mine, near Jessieville, in Garland Co., Arkansas. This crystal has good luster and transparency - it has a natural light grey smoky hue that is fairly uncommon in Arkansas quartz. There are some small black inclusions in the backside that we presume to be carbon, but testing has not been done to confirm this - manganese and shale have also been considered to be possibilities. Numerous small crystals have formed on the back faces, while the others are smooth and striated. The crystal is in good condition with no significant damage to report.
