Quartz
Quartz
A fun quartz cluster from I Me Mine, in Jessieville, Arkansas. We refer to this piece affectionately as the "rock lobster" - because, well... it resembles a lobster. It has two crystals that draw your eye - the longer crystal in the middle and the one sticking up. The upright crystal (main photo) has a damaged termination, but the specimen is otherwise in good condition. It is crystallized all the way around, save some contact points along the edges, which allows for multiple display angles (although only one rock lobster). The back shows "glassback" style recrystallization that is highly complex, exhibiting thousands of minute faces in parallel growth.
