A superb quartz crystal from I Me Mine, near Jessieville, in Garland Co., Arkansas. This sizeable single crystal shows exceptional luster, good clarity, and intriguing growth lines and striations. The termination exhibits what I like to call a "tip slip", where one side of the termination has sheared off the crystal while the mineralizing solution was still present, allowing for the slip to recrystallize. This one only moved slightly but the growth lines and hillocks on the terminal face alter at the break/reheal line - very interesting. There are some minor black inclusions on the backside - presumably carbon - as well as a very prominent internal "rainbow", caused by light refracting off a fracture. The crystal is in good condition with no significant damage to report. It comes with a custom acrylic base, milled and engraved in house by our master carver Jacob.
