Quartz
Quartz
A large doubly terminated quartz crystal from I Me Mine, near Jessieville, Arkansas. This crystal has a whole lot going on - and although it is milky, it makes up for it in many ways. The piece is comprised of two quartz crystals that have grown in parallel and are both doubly terminated. The larger crystal boasts two penetrating crystals - one of particularly impressive size that penetrates over two inches into the crystal and terminates after it pierces through the prism face on the left-hand side. A second, smaller penetrator can be seen in the same orientation, on the same crystal just a few inches below. The larger crystal also hosts a beautiful gem-quality DT that formed right where the large penetrating crystal begins. This DT was naturally separated from its parent crystal in the pocket and we professionally repaired it where it clicked back together. There are also some chunky grey inclusions in the bottom termination of the main crystal that may be sandstone. There is some damage to that lower termination, but it hides well in its custom base that we made in house.
