Quartz
Quartz
A superb, gem-quality quartz cluster from the famous McEarl Mine, near Blue Springs, in Garland Co., Arkansas. This specimen is from the celebrated finds of the 1980s, which many consider to be the finest discovery of clear quartz in the world, certainly the continent. It is comprised of a large, slender quartz crystal of exceptional quality, that has formed with a grouping of smaller crystals. The arrangement is attractive and resembles a pistol (crystal pistol). The main crystal has a contacted area on the backside where a small crystal has broken off, the termination remains partially included into the crystal. There is also some contacting on the backside of the secondary crystals. The main crystal is free of any true damage - it does have an internal fracture near the top that appears to be damage but is not. The specimen comes with a custom acrylic base, carved and engraved in house by our master carver Jacob.
