A fine niobian perovskite (aka dysanalyte) with magnetite from Perovskite Hill, Magnet Cove, Hot Spring Co., Arkansas. Dysanalyte is a very rare variety of perovskite rich in niobium. Magnet Cove has produced what are likely the finest examples of this species from anywhere in the world. This piece is a superb example, featuring a sharp cubic dysanalyte crystal on an off-white matrix with several crystals of magnetite in association. The arrangement of the crystals on the matrix is very attractive, and the specimen is in good condition. It was once in the collection of Carl Acosta, long time Tsumeb and rarities collector out of L.A.
