A beautiful blue wavellite from Mauldin Mountain, in Montgomery Co., Arkansas. This find is distinctive from other finds of blue wavellite I'm familiar with - whereas most is a late-stage growth over green wavellite spheres, this find is true blue to the core. This specimen features a grouping of botryoidal wavellite of a vivid blue hue that has formed over a small piece of the host rock. The crystals exhibit very high luster and show an almost chatoyant effect when turned around in hand. The piece is in very good condition, with no significant damage worth mentioning. It comes with a custom acrylic base, milled and engraved in house by our master base maker, Jacob.
