A beautiful blue wavellite from Mauldin Mountain, in Montgomery Co., Arkansas. This find is distinctive from other finds of blue wavellite I'm familiar with - whereas most is a late-stage growth over green wavellite spheres, this find is true blue to the core. This specimen features a grouping of botryoidal wavellite of a vivid blue color that has formed within small vugs in the host rock. This is a rather large example of this material - most of the good ones are miniatures. The specimen is in good condition, having no significant damage worth mentioning. The specimen comes with a custom acrylic base, made in house by our master carver, Jacob.
