A beautiful blue wavellite from Mauldin Mountain, in Montgomery Co., Arkansas. This find is distinctive from other finds of blue wavellite I'm familiar with - whereas most is a late-stage growth over green wavellite spheres, this find is true blue to the core. Broken radial sprays show blue coloration throughout, indicating there never was a green stage. This piece has exceptional color and luster for the find. It shows good botryoids (spheres) and is nestled in a bit of matrix. It is good condition with no real damage to the crystal, save some broken spheres along the edges, which is to be expected.
