A beautiful blue wavellite from Mauldin Mountain, in Montgomery Co., Arkansas. This find is distinctive from other finds of blue wavellite I'm familiar with - whereas most is a late-stage growth over green wavellite spheres, this find is true blue to the core.. Broken radial sprays show blue coloration throughout, indicating there never was a green stage. This piece exhibits isolated botryoids on the matrix, which in my opinion, are the most dramatic examples of this material. It is good condition with no real damage to the crystal, save some broken spheres along the edges, which is to be expected. Custom mounting is available at checkout.
